There’s a good reason why the Sunshine Coast is named so – it receives approximately 2,400 hours of sunlight annually making it drier and sunnier than other destinations along the west coast. Sun-warmed beaches, marine site-seeing from sea kayaking to scuba diving adventures, picturesque coastal scenery and quaint galleries and are all part of this beautiful 180 km coastline.

Boarding the ferry in Horseshoe Bay, your journey to the Sunshine Coast really begins. For forty minutes you will be enchanted by the scenery of fir and cedar treed islands against a backdrop of coastal mountains.

After docking, stop for lunch in the seaside town of Gibson's, British Columbia. This is home to Molly's Reach where they filmed the "Beach Combers" Television series. Take a stroll along the waterfront and enjoy one of the many coffee shops and art galleries.  Meander your way  up the highway 12 km to Roberts Creek , a haven for artists and artisans.  This waterfront  community boasts funky  restaurants as well as shops and galleries. Stop by the  pier and enjoy the magnificent views or maybe relax with a round of golf at the Roberts Creek Golf Course

Just 30 minutes from Gibson's is Sechelt, the land between two waters and home of the Sechelt Inlet. This pristine wilderness is a favorite of Sea Kayakers who love to explore the marine parks and swim in the sheltered waters. Come Kayak the Inland Sea and visit some of the fine Sechelt bed and breakfasts that  lay at the waters edge.

Halfmoon Bay, just 15 min north from Sechelt is home to Smugglers Cove and some of the most stunning Marine Parks in British Columbia. Divers will love Coopers Green and Welcome Beach and Thornamby Island boast some of the nicest sand beaches found anywhere on the West Coast of BC, Canada.

Pender Harbour lies just north of Halfmoon Bay and  quaint little marinas and oceanfront pubs dot the area. Enjoy dinner at the Rockwater Spa Restaurant, Ruby Lake or the Upper Deck in Secret Cove.

While visiting the coast  be sure to visit  drive up the end of the road and the Earls Cove Ferry Terminal, follow the signs to  Egmont Road  and be sure to take in a hike to the world famous  Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Park where you will witness the awesome power  of the some of the world's fastest tidal rapids. See the extreme kayakers as they challenge the standing waves. Egmont is also the jumping off point  for tours to the World Famous Princess Louisa Inlet and Chatterbox Falls.
